ISMA 2026 is organised by

The Acoustical Society of Finland ties together acousticians and other people from various fields interested in acoustics. The association was founded in 1943 and it’s main purpose is to support research and education in acoustics as well as publishing and maintaining acoustic terminology in the Finnish language. The present number of members is about 220 registered persons and about 20 supporting companies.

The Department of Music and Technology at the University of the Arts Helsinki carries out research in fields closely linked to music creation, performance, and dissemination with technology. In addition, through developments of tools and platforms, the specific needs of experimental musicians are addressed. The focus areas are: electroacoustic music, experimental performance with electronics, film and game music, live sound in concert settings, media and sonic arts, music and technology: tools, methods and development, music technology pedagogy, recording arts and music production.

The Aalto Acoustics Lab gathers professors and research teams from three different units: Department of Information and Communications Engineering, Department of Computer Science, and Department of Art and Media. Our research and teaching focus on audio processing and spatial sound technologies.
